*What Belfast Is Famous For!

In 2007, I had my first cinema date with my friends since giving birth to Spud, the film we watched was PS - I Love You, it was then, hearing the beautiful Irish accent, and seeing some of the beautiful Irish scenery that I made a vow that one day, I will visit Ireland!

It was the actor Gerard Butler who made me first fall in love with the accent, and today whilst writing this post, I've discovered Gerard is Scottish! Well, all I can say is Gerard is a talented man, I thought his mother tongue was Irish, never in a million year's would I of said Scottish!

Yes, Triona's sniffing my hair! Do all Irish folk do this?

Since 2007, I've become more and more fond of the Irish, one of my best friends Triona is from Limerick and her family run the Irish Club in my home town, this year, I decided that I'm finally going to visit Ireland!!!

The Irish are well known for St Patrick's day, Leprechauns, four leaf clovers, Guinness, the Titanic, Shamrocks, U2 and of course the beautiful accent and scenery the country boast. I've never been to Ireland, but it's Triona's 30th birthday in November and we're planning on going back to her home country for the weekend!

The Irish accent to me is the most beautiful accent in the world, and it seem's I'm not alone when I say that, a quick search on Google of ''what's the most beautiful accent in the world?'' brings up tons of results, all claiming the Irish accent as number one!

We'll be in Ireland for four days, travelling to Limerick for two days and then to Belfast for the other two. Booking a hotel online couldn't be any easier these days, Hotel Direct is one good example. In Limerick, we'll be visiting Triona's family and partying, it is her 30th after all! In Belfast, we'll be tourists, sight seeing, viewing and picture taking in the Northern Ireland capital! I've put together a little list below of the places we're planning on visiting!

One - Titanic Belfast

The Titanic is one amazing but sad movie, and not one I could watch ever again without crying! As I've mentioned so many times on Unique Young Mum, I love history and so, to visit a museum based on the Titanic is a must for me! The Titanic was built in Belfast, so it will be interesting to see some facts and history behind the famous ship that tragically sunk.

Two - Escap3d

I can't find much online about Escap3d as it's just an attraction rather then a piece of history. Escap3d is set within a old, disused warehouse, form a team of between 2 and 6 people, get locked into a room, and use your brain to get out within 60 minutes! I love puzzles and challenges so this could be very interesting to test myself against time!

Three - Crumlin Road Gaol

Again, this one is all about the history for me, Crumlin Road Gaol dates back to 1845 and closed it's doors as a working prison in 1996, it's now a guided visitor attraction. I love all things old, I like to discover the things we can't see any more, a step back into time. I just hope I don't see any old prisoner ghost, I love horror films, but real life ghost would scare me!

Four - Ballywalter Park

Ballywalter Park is the home of Lord & Lady Dunleath and it has been in their family for 170 years. The Mansion House was built in the Italinate Palazzo style by the eminent architect Sir Charles Lanyon and has been afforded Grade A listing as being of exceptional architectural important! Again this is another history lesson for me, but knowledge learned is knowledge gained!

Five - Aunt Sandra's

Well seeing as I've mentioned two films within this post I may as well mention a third - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! Ever since watching those children, as a child myself, in a world full of candy and chocolate, I've wanted to visit Willy Wonker's factory myself! Of course, this is not possible, but Aunt Sandra's is, and as we're going to Belfast as tourist, it's only right we pop in for some delicious treats! Well, that's my excuse to buy some sweet treats any way!

_____________________________________________________________

I've got a lot to learn before my travels to the Country I most desire, Triona's been teaching me all the naughty words, if I'm going to find myself a Irish husband to be, I need to know how to tell him I think he's cute don't I? I also need to discover some local walks because the scenery is something I'm not prepared to miss out on!

It will be interesting to try out local eateries also, Triona boils her bacon and has the strangest combination of roast dinner items! Luckily, I'll try anything once and twice if I like it, so I'm willing to try food's I've never tasted, or food's cooked in different ways then how us English folk would cook them!

If you've got any tips for me ahead of my trip in November, please do leave a comment below! I'd love to know a few good bars to go too, I'm on the hunt for a Irish boyfriend you see!

Until next time,
Jada x
