Learning Magic, The Mum Friendly Way!

When someone mentions magic, either one or two thing's pop into my head on initial first thoughts, it's either one or the two thing's for me, but both, leave me amazed, well has at least left me feeling amazed in the past! Thanks to NatWest and BritMums though, I've discovered some new tricks that I'm going to share with you with #MumsMagicTricks.

The first one is a magician in a long tail cloak, holding a hat, which happens to always be black with a plastic wand, decorated each end with a perfectly straight white stripe. The magician is usually accompanied by a rabbit that always happens to be white, oh and let's not to forget the pack of 'magic' playing cards stuffed into every pocket with some balloons that can be shaped into dogs and flowers.

A shower curtain, some stickers, a lidded cup, a egg box carton and some paper cases? I can create magic out of this!? Really??? #MumsMagicTricks
The second is those scary freaky people like David Blain or my all time favourite Ben Hanlin, what they do, well not so much David Blaine as I've never watched any of his tricks, I've just read the stories is totally amazing! It get's me questioning myself, which I don't like, because, quite frankly doesn't one truly have enough to think about on a day to day basis?

Use a egg box carton to help little hands manage their cards! #MumsMagicTricks
If you should ask my Spud about magic, I'm certainly sure, he would also have two initial thoughts, one being the same as mine, the silly magician with the white rabbit and the black cat, the second will be mummy's magic, the magic that mummy uses to pull Skylanders and Lego out of his ear! Or the magic mummy uses to magically turn over the TV when his TV time is over (I have a second remote control), the wows and astonishing mouth dropping poses he produces when mummy uses her magic is priceless!

You can also use a egg box carton to put paint inside, that way, children have less of a chance to spill paint from a bottle! Use the other side of the carton to lay your paint brush/brushes to rest! #MumsMagicTricks
I'm dreading the day Spud discovers that mummy isn't magic, that I cant magic toys, games and DVD's out of thin air and through his ear! The actual 'truth' is, I've purchased them from shops, hid them, and when he's been good, or just because mummy's wanting to surprise him, I 'magic' the gift out of my sleeve, but as Spud has his eyes closed, he doesn't know it didn't come from his ear but in fact my sleeve!

Use a old or cheap shower curtain as a cover for floors or tables for your little ones arts and craft sessions! #MumsMagicTricks
When Spud is old enough to know that magic doesn't exist, he'll also know about Santa, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny. It will be then, that I discover how big 'my baby' really has got. However, I can still use my wisdom and the help of technology to make my magic last, and to keep me in touch with the mystical side, just because Tinkerbell has not arrived to give me some of that much sought pixie dust yet!

Use a lidded cup to wash your paint brush, and try to keep a accidental spill to a minimum, you could also use lidded cups for paint! #MumsMagicTricks
Technology has always been a little bit magical in my eyes, with smart TV's playing video's from our phones, laptops that are touch screen of which also doubles into a tablet, then we have Siri on the iPhone answering our questions, and now we can even check out our bank balances, transfer money, set up direct debits and even more with the NatWest mobile banking app!

Cut a sticker in half, and place one on each sole of your child's shoe, when they put the shoes the right way round, the sticker will match and help your child know what shoe is for each foot! #MumsMagicTricks

The NatWest Mobile Banking App stands out from other mobile banking apps, NatWest is the only bank to allow you to use their emergency cash service if you should lose your card, or simply left it at home. You can use the mobile app to generate a Get Cash code, and what's more, you can also use the app to find the nearest NatWest cash machine and even the closest branch!

I didn't actually know this until I downloaded the app, but it doesn't have to be a NatWest cash machine for you to withdraw your emergency cash. Fortunately I've never had to use the service, but it's handy to know that if I ever should get in a sticky situation, I could use a NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or a Tesco cash machine to access the emergency cash.

By using the app, you can access upto £250 a day via Get Cash, the code last for three hours, you can use the service a maximum of two times a day. However you must have a minimum of £25 in your account to withdraw and you will only be issued with one code at any one time during the three hour period.

My brother is always rushing out of the door at the last minute for work during the week, and is often forgetting his wallet. Instead of taking his wallet out of the pair of work trousers he's worn the day before, he leaves his wallet there, then forgets to retrieve it in the morning! Leaving his wallet at home, with his cash in it, it's handy to know that instead of firing up the laptop, or even rushing home to get money into his account before his lunch is over, I can be out and about and transfer money to him, or any other family member, as well as friends plus I can even pay my bills via the app!

Although Spud is not old enough for a phone, it's handy to know that when that time does come, I can top up his phone via the app without having to pop to the local shops! With the app, you can add up to five different mobile phone numbers to top up, so if you've got a few children or even other family members who need a little hand out, then the app is great for mobile top ups!

The app can even send personalised friendly reminders to those friend and family member's who owe you money, they do say if you don't ask - you don't get! The app has  so many beneficial uses, it can save time and hassle by avoiding personal visits to your local branch, and even the battery on your laptop!

Use cupcake cases to prevent sticky ice lolly spills! Simply push the ice lolly stick through the middle of a cupcake case and magic, minimum, or no sticky spills! #MumsMagicTricks
